3. Houston=W

4. Carolina= W

5. Tampa Bay= W

6. New York Jets=W

7. Atlanta= W

8. Los Angeles Chargers= W

9. BYE

10. Denver=W

11. Oakland= W

12. Miami=W

13. Buffalo= W

14. Miami= W

15. Pittsburgh= L

16. Buffalo= W

17. New York Jets= W

Final Record= 15-1

Explanation= with the offseason additions this team has made following their historic Super Bowl comeback (Cooks, Gilmore, Gillislee), I believe the Patriots are in for another successful season. There is no doubt in my mind they will win the AFC East and will most likely return to the AFC Championship Game next season. I have Patriots losing to Pittsburgh because I believe they are the only one in the league that can beat them. The game is at Heinz Field as well.

Buffalo Bills

1. New York Jets= W

2. Carolina=L

3. Denver= L

4. Atlanta= L

5. Cincinnati= W

6. BYE

7. Tampa Bay= L

8. Oakland= L

9. New York Jets= W

10. New Orleans= W

11. Los Angeles Chargers= W

12. Kansas City= L

13. New England= L

14. Indianapolis= W

15. Miami= W

16. New England= L

17. Miami= L

Final Record= 7-9

Explanation= I personally don’t believe Tyrod Taylor is the answer for the Bills at QB and I predict that LeSean McCoy will be traded before the trade deadline. Lots of their losses I believe will be close. In my mind, the Bills are a team that solei relies on defense to keep them in games. The two trades they made earlier in this offseason created problems not solved them. Sammy Watkins for E.J Gaines and a draft pick was helpful until they traded Ronald Darby to the Eagles for Jordan Matthews. They basically downgraded twice in two important positions for a couple of draft picks. If they had kept Watkins and Darby, I would possibly have given them a better record. As is though, I believe 7-9 is fair. (Remember, the Bills have Kansas City’s first round pick in next year’s draft as well).

Miami Dolphins

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers= L

2. Los Angeles Chargers= W

3. New York Jets= W

4. New Orleans= L

5. Tennessee Titians= L

6. Atlanta= L

7. New York Jets= W

8. Baltimore= W

9. Oakland= L

10. Carolina= W

11. BYE

12. New England= L

13. Denver= W

14. New England= L

15. Buffalo= L

16. Kansas City= L

17. Buffalo= W

Final Record= 7-9

Explanation= obviously, the whole Ryan Tannehill situation damaged Miami’s playoff plans. They get the best available QB in Cutler who has played decent in the preseason. However, under Cutler, I don’t think this team is playoff worthy and an overall average team. The best I could see them finishing is 9-7 if Cutler plays well enough to win them some close games. I personally don’t think Culter can win them games when it comes down to the wire which is why I believe 7-9 is a fair record.

New York Jets

1. Buffalo= L

2. Oakland= L

3. Miami= L

4. Jacksonville= L

5. Cleveland= L

6. New England= L

7. Miami= L

8. Atlanta= L

9. Buffalo= L

10. Tampa Bay= L

11. BYE

12. Carolina= L

13. Kansas City= L

14. Denver= L

15. New Orleans= L

16. Los Angeles Chargers= L

17. New England= L

Final Record= 0-16

Explanation= Remember, I am a Jets fan. This team is obviously trying to tank this season to put themselves in a position to draft one of the many talented college QB’s (Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, Rosen, Allen). As a fan, I support this decision. I would rather them lose every game than win 6 to 9 games and miss the playoffs. This is what they have been doing for years now and have missed out on quality talent in the draft as a result. The only way to ensure they get the #1 pick is to lose every game which I believe is what they are going to do.

AFC NORTH

Pittsburgh Steelers

1. Cleveland= W

2. Minnesota= W

3. Chicago=W

4. Baltimore= L

5. Jacksonville= W

6. Kansas City= W

7. Cincinnati= W

8. Detroit= W

9. BYE

10. Indianapolis= W

11. Tennessee= W

12. Green Bay= L

13. Cincinnati= W

14. Baltimore= W

15. New England= W

16. Houston= W

17. Cleveland= W

Final Record= 14-2

Explanation= The Steelers are stacked! The offense is unbelievable in every position and the defense just improved this week with the signing of CB Joe Haden. They are also linked to former Broncos safety and 3-time Pro Bowler T.J Ward. I can’t see a reason why they can’t have a great season and easily win the AFC North.

Baltimore Ravens

1. Cincinnati= W

2. Cleveland= W

3. Jacksonville= L

4. Pittsburgh= W

5. Oakland= L

6. Chicago= W

7. Minnesota= W

8. Miami= L

9. Tennessee= L

10. BYE

11. Green Bay= L

12. Houston= L

13. Detroit= L

14. Pittsburgh= L

15. Cleveland= W

16. Indianapolis= W

17. Cincinnati= W

Final Record= 8-8

Explanation= everything about this team screams 8-8. They are nothing special as the defense is primarily made up of aging stars such as Suggs and Weddle. The running issue still hasn’t been addressed, however they did upgrade at receiver by signing Jeremy Maclin. They aren’t a bad team, I just don’t think they are a competitor. (Thinking ahead: Ozzie Newsome should find a way to trade up in the draft next year to draft Saquon Barkley of Penn State. That would solve that problem).

Cincinnati Bengals

1. Baltimore= L

2. Houston= W

3. Green Bay= L

4. Cleveland= W

5. Buffalo= L

6. BYE

7. Pittsburgh= L

8. Indianapolis= W

9. Jacksonville= L

10. Tennessee= L

11. Denver= W

12. Cleveland= W

13. Pittsburgh= L

14. Chicago= W

15. Minnesota= W

16. Detroit= W

17. Baltimore= L

Final Record= 8-8

Explanation= I just don’t buy the hype surrounding the Bengals this season. A friend of mine made a legitimate point about John Ross. He said that Ross reminds him of Baltimore’s Breshad Perriman because of the college hype and the speed. He said he could get hurt easily like Perriman. I agree with this statement and I also am not sold on Joe Mixon yet. Marvin Lewis still has yet to establish a disciplinary platform and allows many problem players to continue to be on the team. Vontaze Burfict is still on the team (who I think is a great LB) and was recently suspended for 3 games. I just don’t see how they can stay disciplined and somehow make the playoffs in a crowded AFC Wild card race. Best case scenario for this team is 8-8 in my mind.

Cleveland Browns

1. Pittsburgh= L

2. Baltimore= L

3. Indianapolis= L

4. Cincinnati= L

5. New York Jets= W

6. Houston= L

7. Tennessee= L

8. Minnesota= L

9. BYE

10. Detroit= L

11. Jacksonville= L

12. Cincinnati= L

13. Los Angeles Chargers= W

14. Green Bay= L

15. Baltimore= L

16. Chicago= L

17. Pittsburgh= L

Final Record= 2-14

Explanation= Cleveland has gotten better this offseason and their rebuild is going in the right direction. However, I still think they are 1-2 years away from really trying to compete. They are no longer the worst team in the league anymore in my mind however. This season will give them another high draft pick in an absolutely loaded draft next year where they can continue to add solid young players to their roster in the years to come.

AFC SOUTH

Tennessee Titans

1. Oakland= L

2. Jacksonville= L

3. Seattle= W

4. Houston= W

5. Miami= W

6. Indianapolis= W

7. Cleveland= W

8. BYE

9. Baltimore= W

10. Cincinnati= W

11. Pittsburgh= L

12. Indianapolis= W

13. Houston= W

14. Arizona= L

15. San Francisco= W

16. Los Angeles Rams= W

17. Jacksonville= W

Final Record= 12-4

Explanation= I believe this is the year for Tennessee and they will have an outstanding season. In my mind, Mariota could be a candidate for MVP this year if this prediction does indeed come true. They improved on both ends this offseason by signing CB Logan Ryan and WR Eric Decker. They also drafted WR Corey Davis 5th overall in April’s draft. Tennessee also has the deadly combo of Derrick Henry and Demarco Murray with a solid O-Line as well. The rebuild is over and Titans fans can expect to start winning again.

Jacksonville Jaguars

1. Houston= L

2. Tennessee= W

3. Baltimore= W

4. New York Jets= W

5. Pittsburgh= L

6. Los Angeles Rams= W

7. Indianapolis= W

8. BYE

9. Cincinnati= W

10. Los Angeles Chargers= W

11. Cleveland= W

12. Arizona= L

13. Indianapolis= L

14. Seattle= L

15. Houston= W

16. San Francisco= W

17. Tennessee= L

Final Record= 10-6

Explanation= this prediction is the most controversial I will make in this article. On paper, Jacksonville’s defense should be unbelievable with Jalen Ramsey, Calais Campbell, Myles Jack, Paul Posluszny, A.J Bouye, Barry Church, and Tashaun Gipson. They also drafted RB Leonard Fournette which should help Bortles out offensively. I already wrote an article on Bortles and the Jaguars offensive situation. Trust me, this team is better than people think and they will surprise a lot of people this season.

Houston Texans

1. Jacksonville= W

2. Cincinnati= L

3. New England= L

4. Tennessee= L

5. Kansas City= W

6. Cleveland= W

7. BYE

8. Seattle= L

9. Indianapolis= W

10. Los Angeles Rams= W

11. Arizona= L

12. Baltimore= W

13. Tennessee= L

14. San Francisco= W

15. Jacksonville= L

16. Pittsburgh= L

17. Indianapolis= L

Final Record= 7-9

Explanation= I believe Houston needs a better QB than Tom Savage to lead them to the playoffs this season. I don’t think they’ll start Watson until it’s too late and they are already out of it. The defense took a huge hit after losing Bouye to divisional rival Jacksonville and I don’t think the running game is as good as people think. I just can’t see this team making the playoffs as is.

Indianapolis Colts

1. Los Angeles Rams= W

2. Arizona= L

3. Cleveland= W

4. Seattle= L

5. San Francisco= W

6. Tennessee= L

7. Jacksonville= L

8. Cincinnati= L

9. Houston= L

10. Pittsburgh= L

11. BYE

12. Tennessee= L

13. Jacksonville= W

14. Buffalo= L

15. Denver= L

16. Baltimore= L

17. Houston= W

Final Record= 5-11

Explanation= The Colts are in trouble. Andrew Luck is battling injuries and Frank Gore isn’t getting any younger. On paper the Colts defense doesn’t stand out as being amazing at all and the special teams took a big hit after losing longtime punter Pat McAfee to retirement. The only bright spot is TY Hilton who still needs a health Andrew luck to throw him the ball. On the bright side, a 5-11 record should land the Colts a top 10 draft pick where they could get a Saquon Barkley or an Arden Key to help them win next season.

AFC WEST

Oakland Raiders

1. Tennessee= W

2. New York Jets= W

3. Washington= W

4. Denver= W

5. Baltimore= W

6. Los Angeles Chargers= W

7. Kansas City= W

8. Buffalo= W

9. Miami= W

10. BYE

11. New England= L

12. Denver= W

13. New York Giants= W

14. Kanas City= W

15. Dallas= W

16. Philadelphia= W

17. Los Angeles Chargers= W

Final Record= 15-1

Explanation= The Raiders are the only competition to the Patriots in the AFC besides the Steelers and should have no problem winning the AFC West division. Beast Mode returns, Derek Carr is healthy, the defense improved, and they have three years to win before the team moves to Vegas. Now is the time for Oakland.

Kanas City Chiefs

1. New England= L

2. Philadelphia= L

3. Los Angeles Chargers= W

4. Washington= W

5. Houston= L

6. Pittsburgh= L

7. Oakland= L

8. Denver= L

9. Dallas= L

10. BYE

11. New York Giants= L

12. Buffalo= W

13. New York Jets= W

14. Oakland= L

15. Los Angeles Chargers= W

16. Miami= W

17. Denver= W

Final Record= 7-9

Explanation= The Chiefs are slightly better than Denver because of Alex Smith and Andy Reid’s experience. However, I don’t believe the defense will be as good as it was last year due to loss of Dontari Poe. I believe that Patrick Mahomes will see a lot of action this season when they go through that 5 game losing streak I predict. They don’t have their first round pick this season because of the trade with Buffalo to get Mahomes.

Denver Broncos

1. Los Angeles Chargers= W

2. Dallas= L

3. Buffalo= W

4. Oakland= L

5. BYE

6. New York Giants= L

7. Los Angeles Chargers= W

8. Kansas City= W

9. Philadelphia= L

10. New England= L

11. Cincinnati= L

12. Oakland= L

13. Miami= L

14. New York Jets= W

15. Indianapolis= W

16. Washington= W

17. Kanas City= L

Final Record= 6-10

Explanation= I don’t think Denver is as good as they used to be and will lose a lot of close games due to QB play and Vance Joseph’s inexperience. The defense is a lot less scary with the departure of T.J Ward and the offense still doesn’t have a great run game. Again, a high pick in a loaded draft might be exactly what this team needs.

Los Angeles Chargers

1. Denver= L

2. Miami= L

3. Kansas City= L

4. Philadelphia= L

5. New York Giants= L

6. Oakland= L

7. Denver= L

8. New England= L

9. BYE

10. Jacksonville= L

11. Buffalo= L

12. Dallas= L

13. Cleveland= L

14. Washington= W

15. Kansas City= L

16. New York Jets= W

17. Oakland= L

Final Record= 2-14

Explanation= I just don’t think this team has enough talent to compete against the teams they are facing. They need another few years and more high draft picks in order to compete. We’ll see what happens but I don’t even think most of these games will even be close.

PLAYOFFS = (Winner highlighted)

1. New England (15-1)

NFC EAST

New York Giants

1. Dallas= W

2. Detroit= L

3. Philadelphia= W

4. Tampa Bay= L

5. Los Angeles Chargers= W

6. Denver= W

7. Seattle= L

8. BYE

9. Los Angeles Rams= W

10. San Francisco= W

11. Kansas City= W

12. Washington= W

13. Oakland= L

14. Dallas= L

15. Philadelphia= W

16. Arizona= W

17. Washington= W

Final Record= 11-5

Explanation= The Giants improved in all areas this offseason, especially on offense. They added veteran wide out Brandon Marshall to help mentor OBJ. I predict they will win the NFC East this season with the same record as last season and will play in the same Wild Card game as last season. Maybe the young Giants receivers have learned their lesson from last season and won’t go partying on a boat with Justin Bieber before this game.

Dallas Cowboys

1. New York Giants= L

2. Denver= W

3. Arizona= L

4. Los Angeles Rams= W

5. Green Bay= L

6. BYE

7. San Francisco= W

8. Washington=W

9. Kansas City= W

10. Atlanta= W

11. Philadelphia= L

12. Los Angeles Chargers= W

13. Washington= W

14. New York Giants= W

15. Oakland= L

16. Seattle= L

17. Philadelphia= W

Final Record= 10-6

Explanation= Due to the suspension of Ezekiel Elliott, I have the Cowboys going .500 without him. With Zeke, they might have beaten Arizona and Green Bay but I still believe they will split the season series against the Giants. The defense got worse this offseason with the departure of Morris Claiborne and Barry Church. Plus, the Great Wall of Dallas lost OG Ronald Leary and OT Doug Free. Led by Dak Prescott, I see the Cowboys returning to the playoffs again this season and potentially making a playoff run.

Philadelphia Eagles

1. Washington= W

2. Kansas City= W

3. New York Giants= L

4. Los Angeles Chargers= W

5. Arizona= L

6. Carolina= L

7. Washington= W

8. San Francisco= W

9. Denver= W

10. BYE

11. Dallas= W

12. Chicago= W

13. Seattle= L

14. Los Angeles Rams= W

15. New York Giants= L

16. Oakland= L

17. Dallas= L

Final Record= 9-7

Explanation= I believe that under the leadership of Carson Wentz, the Philadelphia Eagles will give teams some problems. With the additions of Blount, Jeffrey, and Torrey Smith on offense, I believe Wentz will have enough weapons to rack up points this season. On defense, they acquired Ronald Darby, Timmy Jernigan, and Chris Long, which should improve the team overall. In my mind, without a doubt, the Eagles will be better this season.

Washington Redskins

1. Philadelphia= L

2. Los Angeles Rams= W

3. Oakland= L

4. Kansas City= L

5. BYE

6. San Francisco= W

7. Philadelphia= L

8. Dallas= L

9. Seattle= L

10. Minnesota= L

11. New Orleans= W

12. New York Giants= L

13. Dallas= L

14. Los Angeles Chargers= L

15. Arizona= L

16. Denver= L

17. New York Giants= L

Final Record= 3-13

Explanation= The Redskins simply don’t have the offense needed to be a competitor. They have no run game and only one standout wide receiver. The Josh Norman led defense failed to improve other than the selection of Alabama DT Jonathan Allen in the draft. The defense isn’t the problem and the games they will win will be because of the defense only. We are all familiar with the Kirk Cousins drama and this season will only make it worse. On the bright side, 3-13 will earn them a pretty high draft pick they could use to pick a talented QB with to replace Cousins when he leaves next offseason.

NFC NORTH

Green Bay Packers

1. Seattle= W

2. Atlanta= W

3. Cincinnati= W

4. Chicago= W

5. Dallas= W

6. Minnesota= L

7. New Orleans= W

8. BYE

9. Detroit= W

10. Chicago= W

11. Baltimore= W

12. Pittsburgh= W

13. Tampa Bay= W

14. Cleveland= W

15. Carolina= W

16. Minnesota= W

17. Detroit= W

Final Record= 15-1

Explanation= The Packers are still rolling. Coming off their 3rd consecutive 10+ win season, I don’t see how Green bay can’t easily win this division again. Rodgers is on another level and the Packers got him another weapon in Martellus Bennett this offseason. They also signed 6-time Pro Bowler Jahri Evans to replace TJ Lang. I believe the Packers have the potential to win the NFC this season and might even be my ick to win the Super Bowl.

Detroit Lions

1. Arizona= W

2. New York Giants= W

3. Atlanta= L

4. Minnesota= L

5. Carolina= W

6. New Orleans= W

7. BYE

8. Pittsburgh= L

9. Green Bay= L

10. Cleveland= W

11. Chicago= W

12. Minnesota= W

13. Baltimore= W

14. Tampa Bay= L

15. Chicago= W

16. Cincinnati= L

17. Green Bay= L

Final Record= 9-7

Explanation= The Lions blew more 4th quarter leads than anyone else in the league last season and could have won 5 more games than they did. This season I have them being competitive assuming Matthew Stafford is worth the richest contract in NFL history.

Minnesota Vikings

1. New Orleans= W

2. Pittsburgh= L

3. Tampa Bay= L

4. Detroit= W

5. Chicago= W

6. Green Bay= L

7. Baltimore= W

8. Cleveland= W

9. BYE

10. Washington= W

11. Los Angeles Rams= W

12. Detroit= L

13. Atlanta= L

14. Carolina= L

15. Cincinnati= L

16. Green Bay= L

17. Chicago= W

Final Record= 8-8

Explanation= in a crowded division, I feel as if the Vikings are the third best team out of 4. It’s essentially the same team as last season just with Dalvin Cook instead of AP. That team went 8-8 last year which is why I can see it happening again.

Chicago Bears

1. Atlanta= L

2. Tampa Bay= L

3. Pittsburgh= L

4. Green Bay= L

5. Minnesota= L

6. Baltimore= L

7. Carolina= L

8. New Orleans= L

9. BYE

10. Green Bay= L

11. Detroit= L

12. Philadelphia= L

13. San Francisco= W

14. Cincinnati= L

15. Detroit=L

16. Cleveland= W

17. Minnesota= L

Final record= 2-14

Explanation= I don’t think anyone really expects anything from the Bears this season other than for Trubisky to get some playing time. I have Trubisky winning the starting job halfway through the season and will win them 2 games. The Bears defense is improving, I just don’t think the offense can deliver against some tough competition they are facing this season. They will get another high draft pick and continue to build for the future (which could be very bright).

NFC SOUTH

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

1. Miami= W

2. Chicago= W

3. Minnesota= W

4. New York Giants= W

5. New England= L

6. Arizona= W

7. Buffalo= W

8. Carolina= W

9. New Orleans= W

10. New York Jets= W

11. BYE

12. Atlanta= L

13. Green Bay= L

14. Detroit= W

15. Atlanta= W

16. Carolina= L

17. New Orleans= W

Final Record= 12-4

Explanation= I believe Tampa Bay will win 4 more games than last year based off the many offseason additions that were made on both sides of the ball. On offense, the team signed DeSean Jackson and drafted OJ Howard which gives Jameis Winston more weapons to succeed with. On defense the team signed TJ Ward. I see Tampa barley winning the division over Atlanta and making the playoffs.

Atlanta Falcons

1. Chicago= W

2. Green Bay= L

3. Detroit= W

4. Buffalo= W

5. BYE

6. Miami= W

7. New England= L

8. New York Jets= W

12. Tampa Bay= W

13. Minnesota= W

14. New Orleans= L

15. Tampa Bay= L

16. New Orleans= W

17. Carolina= L

Final Record= 9-7

Explanation= after being on the wrong end of the biggest Super Bowl comeback of all time, I see the Falcons rebounding and possibly returning to the playoffs again. The offense hasn’t really changed other than the departure of Patrick DiMarco and the defense improved by signing Dontari Poe.

Carolina Panthers

1. San Francisco= W

2. Buffalo= W

3. New Orleans= W

4. New England= L

5. Detroit= L

6. Philadelphia= W

7. Chicago= W

8. Tampa Bay= L

9. Atlanta= L

10. Miami= L

12. New York Jets= W

13. New Orleans= L

14. Minnesota= W

15. Green Bay= L

16. Tampa Bay= W

17. Atlanta= L

Final Record= 8-8

Explanation= everything about this team says 8-8. They can beat the teams worse than them but they can’t beat the teams better than them. The offense has improved by the selection of McCaffrey. I still don’t think they have a great receiving core or offensive line. The defense can be improved and unless they make a trade, I don’t see Carolina making the playoffs this season.

New Orleans Saints

1. Minnesota= L

2. New England= L

3. Carolina= L

4. Miami= W

5. BYE

6. Detroit= L

7. Green Bay= L

8. Chicago= W

9. Tampa Bay= L

10. Buffalo= L

11. Washington= L

12. Los Angeles Rams= W

13. Carolina= W

14. Atlanta= L

15. New York Jets= W

16. Atlanta= W

17. Tampa Bay= L

Final Record= 6-10

Explanation= with the departure of Cooks and the suspension of Snead, I just don’t see the Saints making a run this season as is. The defense isn’t really anything special and AP will likely split carries on offense. Maybe they can get one of the many talented QBs in the draft next year to potentially replace Drew Brees one day.

NFC NORTH

Seattle Seahawks

1. Green Bay= L

2. San Francisco= W

3. Tennessee= L

4. Indianapolis= W

5. Los Angeles Rams= W

6. BYE

7. New York Giants= W

8. Houston= W

9. Washington= W

10. Arizona= L

11. Atlanta= W

12. San Francisco= W

13. Philadelphia= W

14. Jacksonville= W

15. Los Angeles Rams= W

16. Dallas= W

17. Arizona= W

Final Record= 13-3

Explanation= this defense is just too good and the addition of Sheldon Richardson makes it even better. They will win close games because of the Legion of Boom and they still have a franchise QB in Russell Wilson. Lacy will help boost the run game and help Seattle return to the playoffs again this season.

Arizona Cardinals

1. Detroit= L

2. Indianapolis= W

3. Dallas= W

4. San Francisco= W

5. Philadelphia= W

6. Tampa Bay= L

7. Los Angeles Rams= W

8. BYE

9. San Francisco= W

10. Seattle= W

11. Houston= W

12. Jacksonville= W

13. Los Angeles Rams= W

14. Tennessee= W

15. Washington= W

16. New York Giants= L

17. Seattle= L

Final Record= 12-4

Explanation= the big question for this team is, How good can Carson Palmer be at age 40? I predict that they will still finish 12-4 because they still have a good defense and David Johnson on offense. I don’t think they will go far in the playoffs though. We’ll see.

Los Angeles Rams

Final Record= 1-15

Explanation= I personally am not a fan of Jared Goff and I don’t think Todd Gurley is an elite running back yet due to the quality of their offensive line. The defense isn’t great and is now worse because of the contract holdout of Aaron Donald. They will get another high draft pick to add to their young roster.

Final Record= 1-15

Explanation= the 49ers have hope for the future and this season will give them another top 5 pick to add to their young roster. New GM John Lynch and Coach Kyle Shanahan have a plan, however I don’t think winning will happen so soon.
